Trademark Control Committee Overview
In accordance with Article 10 of the Rules for the Use of the "Cremona Liuteria" Trademark, the Trademark Control Committee consists of 7 members appointed by the Board of Directors of the Consortium. This includes 3 external, non-member experts and 4 licensed Master Violinmakers who hold the Trademark. Additionally, the Committee is supported by 4 inspectors.
Established in 2013, the Committee's primary duty is to ensure that instruments bearing the Trademark comply with the established Regulations. To this end, the Committee conducts unannounced inspections of workshops, visiting Violinmakers during their daily operations. These inspections are designed to verify that every stage of the instrument-making process adheres to the specified construction techniques and standards outlined in the Instrument Making Rules.
The Committee members, who volunteer their time, are committed to upholding the highest standards for Trademark use. Their efforts reflect the Consortium's unique and dedicated approach to creating and implementing a rigorous inspection system for certifying stringed instruments with the Trademark.
