Ricardo Carrasquilla Grisales was born in Colombia in May 25th 1980.

In 1998 he finished the high school and between 1998 and 2000 he came to Europe to become violinmaker, like his uncle, Giorgio Grisales who is master violinmaker in Cremona.

Between 2000 and 2003 he attends the International Violinmaking school in Parma under the direction of master Elisa and Renato Scrollavezza, and trained in varnishing under master Marco Imer Piccinotti.

From the moment when he arrived in Italy up to nowadays he has always been working in his uncle’s workshop increasing his passion and knowledge for the wonderful world of stringed instruments making.

He participated to the “Triennale of Stringed Instruments” in 2003.
