Giovanni Varazzani was born in Naples during the summer of 1979. A few years later, together with his family, he moved to the countryside near the Po river, a few kilometers from Cremona. After the first school years, Giovanni proves to have a deep artistic attitude that he decides to deepen. A few years later he obtains the artistic high school diploma where he learns the arts of drawing and sculpture. After his academic studies, Giovanni moves to the vast city of London where he studies at the University of Westminster, which culminate in a degree in
animation. During these years Giovanni began to work alongside his brother Andrea as a graphic designer, who in the meantime became a master luthier.
After a few years of work in the United Kingdom, after having mastered the English language very well, Giovanni feels the desire to return close to his family and on his return to Cremona’s countryside, Giovanni makes the decision to work with his brother Andrea full time and to undertake the road of the renowned Cremonese school of violin making. Thanks to the teachings of his brother Andrea, Giovanni began studying the ancient techniques of construction of string instruments, the knowledge of woods, materials and varnishing techniques. During these years Giovanni absorbed Andrea's working methods and secrets, thus continuing his training process.
