Fernando Salvatore Lima was born in 1962.
As a Master he works and lives in Cremona. His workshop is in the center of the city in Piazza Roma 8, Cremona (Italy). He works alone and makes fine violins, violas and cellos.
He graduated at the violin making school “Antonio Stradivari” in Cremona, obtaining an internationally recognized diploma with the highest grades. He always works with old wood of the best
quality that he has collected for many years.
The varnish is his own recipe and is known for its beauty and transparency.
Fernando Lima made his first instrument at the age of 16, and has dedicated his life to the art of instrument making, with the aim to archive the
perfection of sound like the good old Italian instruments, or even better. The Cremona Masters of the past are his great inspiration. You can see the care in every small detail of his work.
He makes especially copies of old Italian instruments, but also his personal models.
Musicians recognize his instruments for their playability and the incredible beauty of the sound. His work is known as the “EXELLENCE OF SOUND”.
Fernando Lima has been member of the jury of ANLAI International competition for violin makers in Italy in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
