Marco Piccinotti started his violin making career in 1983 under the guidance of the great Master Renato Scrollavezza from Parma with whom had a many years long intensive professional relation.

Along the years attended to several violin making masterclasses and courses hold by prestigious teachers, in addition had professional meetings with very famous makers, restorers and experts.

Over forty years of experience in violin making, set-up and sound adjustment, researches, restauration and study of most prominent Italian makers of any period, from the classical period to the modern.

Such a solid professional background has been indispensable for creating and developing his own making method as well as varnishing procedures, innovative and high performing set-up solutions for matching the highest musician’s expectations.

For many years teacher in the violin making schools of Milan and Parma, has been awarded of many prizes in various important international competitions.

Following a particular and personal making method coming from the most prestigious Italian classical tradition aesthetics and acoustics results of the highest level are constantly achieved even using different models and particular woods.

In addition to the usual bowed instruments, violins of fractional sizes are made as well for very talented young kids, with the same quality level and the same care on all the details of the full-size ones.

The musician can choose in advance the favorite sound’s characteristics, woods and style of varnishing.
